A fun, breezy seaside family session at Stories Beach

Vancouver Island is home to some of the most beautiful coastline in the world. It naturally invites you to slow down, notice the small things, and simply be together. This breezy family session along the shores of Campbell River was exactly that kind of day.

This beautiful family of four spent the afternoon exploring the shoreline, completely immersed in the quiet magic of it all. The tide had pulled back just enough to reveal a world of tiny treasures beneath the rocks. Little hands eagerly searched for starfish, crabs, and anything that moved or shimmered, while the parents followed closely behind, laughing and gently guiding each new discovery.

The air carried that familiar salty coastal breeze, while mountains stretched across the horizon, grounding the scene in something vast and timeless. It wasn’t about posed moments or perfection—it was about connection: muddy hands, wind-tangled hair, and the kind of laughter that comes easily when no one is trying too hard.

Sessions like this feel less like photoshoots and more like time capsules. Honest, unscripted, and full of life. Being able to document these fleeting chapters—exactly as they are—always feels like a privilege. A way to preserve not just how things looked, but how they felt.
